Watercolor on 300 lb 100% cotton cold pressed paper
9” x 12”
Matted to 12” x 16”
This striking original watercolor transforms a familiar household succulent into a vibrant, ethereal exploration of life and color. The architectural, segmented stems of a holiday cactus are layered in washes of rich emerald, deep teal, and earthy magenta accents. The botanical form dynamically anchors the composition, creating a beautiful interplay between sharp natural structures and soft, fluid transitions. What truly elevates the piece is its dreamlike, atmospheric background. Luminous orbs of golden yellow blend seamlessly into blushing pinks and cooling sky blues, invoking the warm, dappled light of a stained-glass window or an early morning greenhouse. This captivating balance of organic realism and radiant abstraction makes it a sophisticated addition to any contemporary art collection.
